Adam’s Peak — Sri Pada
Climb Sri Lanka’s sacred Sri Pada, with a sunrise summit option, mountain landscapes and a journey shaped around your group’s pace and the season.
Climb a mountain with centuries of meaning.
Adam’s Peak, known locally as Sri Pada, is one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred and iconic mountains. With KANRA SL, the experience is a private mountain journey built around the climb, your preferred start and the conditions on the day.
The trail rises through a long series of steps toward the summit, where the sacred footprint is located. For sunrise, the classic experience begins at night and continues beneath the stars before dawn. The journey is physically demanding, but deeply rewarding.
A sacred mountain shared by traditions.
Sri Pada is important not only as a mountain challenge, but as a place of pilgrimage with deep religious and cultural meaning.
Two ways to climb Sri Pada.
Choose the classic sunrise journey or a later daytime climb according to your fitness, interests and preferred pace.
From Negombo to the sacred summit.
The road journey takes approximately four hours from Negombo to the trailhead area, followed by the mountain ascent.
The mountain asks for preparation.
Adam’s Peak is a challenging climb with a long series of steps. A good fitness level is recommended, especially for the sunrise option. Rain, cold temperatures, wind, mist and slippery steps are possible, and the trail can become busy during pilgrimage season.
Sunrise and mountain views are weather dependent and cannot be guaranteed. Lunch is not included; we recommend carrying enough water and a light snack or fruit for the journey.
