Kitulgala is one of Sri Lanka’s best-known adventure destinations, surrounded by lush rainforest and the Kelani River. The setting makes it ideal for a day that mixes an exciting rafting experience with fresh air, river scenery and optional nature activities.

From Negombo, allow approximately 2 hours by road to reach Kitulgala, depending on traffic and road conditions.

The rafting experience

Fun, wild & beautifully wet.

After a safety briefing and training session, paddle through a scenic stretch of the Kelani River with professional instructors and the rainforest rising around you.

Grade 2–3 RapidsFun and exciting rapids suitable for beginners and families, with professional guidance throughout the activity.
About 5 km on the RiverA lively stretch featuring major rapids and smaller sections where the river and rainforest become part of the experience.
Safety FirstRafting equipment, safety gear, briefing and a professional English-speaking guide are included.
