Sinharaja Rainforest Expedition

Step into Sri Lanka’s UNESCO World Heritage rainforest on a guided nature expedition through ancient forest, endemic wildlife, streams and waterfalls.

The experience

Into one of Sri Lanka’s richest rainforests.

Sinharaja is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most important natural treasures. With KANRA SL, the experience is a guided rainforest hike rather than a simple sightseeing stop — allowing you to slow down, observe the forest and discover its living details.

Expect humid tropical conditions, dense vegetation, forest trails, streams and the possibility of encountering endemic birds, butterflies, monkeys, amphibians, reptiles, insects and remarkable native plants.

Journey flow

Choose the depth of your rainforest day.

Both options are private and guided. We shape the experience around your group’s pace and the conditions on the day.

Full-Day ExpeditionMore time for deeper forest exploration, wildlife observation, streams and waterfalls, depending on trail and weather conditions.
Good to know

Rainforest conditions are part of the adventure.

Sinharaja is wet, humid and naturally wild. Trails can become muddy and slippery, insects and leeches are normal, and weather can change quickly. Uneven ground and wet rocks require suitable footwear and a comfortable pace.

Lunch is not included. For a forest break, we recommend bringing a light snack or fruit and enough drinking water for your needs.

Responsible travel

Leave the forest wild.

Sinharaja is a protected natural environment. We encourage respectful wildlife viewing, staying on appropriate trails, carrying waste out of the forest and following the instructions of local guides and forest authorities.

Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Forest access, trails and activities may be adjusted according to weather, safety and official conditions.
