Just offshore from Nilaveli, Pigeon Island is a marine national park consisting of Great Pigeon Island and Small Pigeon Island. The surrounding waters are known for coral reef and marine life, making snorkeling and diving key experiences.
Boat access is normally arranged from the Nilaveli area, with the exact arrangements, park access and sea conditions confirmed before the visit.

What makes it different?
Unlike a conventional beach day, Pigeon Island combines a boat journey, island scenery and the underwater environment. Coral and marine life are part of the attraction, so visitors should follow park rules and avoid touching or damaging coral.
