From wild elephants and rainforest to an Indian Ocean sunset, whales, historic Galle and the mangroves of the south.
This private journey brings together some of southern Sri Lanka's most different landscapes — wildlife country, the option to enter Sinharaja's rainforest, the beaches of Mirissa, marine experiences, the history of Galle Fort and the coastal nature of Hikkaduwa.
The route is a suggested journey, not a rigid timetable. Choose more nature, more beach time or a different pace. We shape the final itinerary around your group.

Publicly, we keep the route clear without publishing operational start times. Final timings are confirmed privately according to your pickup point, selected experiences and conditions.
Travel towards Udawalawe and experience a private wildlife safari focused on wild Sri Lankan elephants and the wider park ecosystem.
Choose Sinharaja rainforest or continue more directly to the coast. Finish the day at Mirissa Beach with sunset.
Choose whale watching, surfing or a slower beach morning before continuing towards the Galle area.
Explore Galle Fort, then continue to Hikkaduwa for turtles and a Madu River mangrove experience.
Keep the final morning flexible for beach time, surfing, snorkelling or another selected coastal experience.
That is why some moments in this journey are choices. Pick the experience that fits your group rather than following a fixed checklist.

A guided rainforest experience in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with endemic biodiversity, streams and forest trails depending on the selected route and conditions.

Head into the Indian Ocean from Mirissa in search of whales and dolphins. Wildlife sightings are natural and never guaranteed.

Explore Udawalawe National Park on a wildlife safari, with opportunities to see wild elephants and a rich variety of birdlife in their natural habitat.

Choose an active morning with a local surfing experience, or simply slow down and enjoy the southern coast.
Each part of the route adds something different — and the journey becomes richer because you are not seeing Sri Lanka from only one side.

If whale watching is unavailable, KANRA can arrange an alternative coastal experience such as surfing or a relaxed beach experience.
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Sinharaja routes may change with rain, trail conditions and forest arrangements. Surfing and snorkelling depend on sea conditions.
